Automated separators (made of anodized aluminium) are intended for automated processing of MagSi magnetic beads and MagSiMUS biological sample preparation kits, and available in 96, 384 well and 96 DeepWell formats. 32 FlipTube® and HPLC vial formats are offered with a SBS standard registration base for easy placement on dedicated liquid handling instruments and on liquid handling workstations from various other companies (i.e. Hamilton, Perkin Elmer, Beckman-Coulter, Tecan, Eppendorf and Gilson).

The neodymium (NdFeB, NIB, or Neo) magnets used for the separators are the strongest permanent magnets made. MM-Separators SBS are suitable for automation of MagSi-beads and MagSiMUS applications and are compatible with all 96 and 384 pipette heads available in the market.

 

SBS footprint, automated side collection in 96 well plates

This magnetic separator is especially designed for automated use with 96 well PCR microplates. It is ideal for medium-throughput processes using 96 well PCR plates. It has a SBS dimensioned base which fits on any robotic deck, and a red anodized aluminium block which holds 96 ring magnets. Each magnet enables beads to be pulled to the side of the wells for optimal access to the bottom of the wells and easy supernatant removal with 8-channel or 96 channel pipette heads.

The product is suitable for most 96 well PCR plates, both semi- and full-skirted as well as non-skirted, and for most U and V-bottom shaped 96-well microplates.

This magnetic separator is designed for automated use with 384 well PCR microplates. It is ideal for high-throughput processes using 384 well PCR plates. It has a SBS dimensioned base which fits on any robotic deck, and a red anodized aluminium block which holds 12 x 8 magnets. Each magnet enables beads to be pulled to the side of 4 wells for optimal access to the bottom of the wells and easy supernatant removal with 96 or 384 channel pipette heads.

The product is suitable for most 384 well PCR plates, both semi- and full-skirted as well as non-skirted, and for most 384 well microplates.

This magnetic separator is designed for automated use with 96 well microplates. It is ideal for applications which require the collection of beads on the bottom of each well. It has a SBS dimensioned base which fits on any robotic deck, and a red anodized aluminium block which holds 12 x 8 magnets.

The product is suitable for most U- and V-bottom shaped 96 well microplates.

Automated bead collection in 32 FlipTube® 1.5 ml tubes

This magnetic separation block is developed for automated use with 32 FlipTube® 1.5 ml tubes. It collects the beads on the bottom of the FlipTube®. It has SBS dimensions in a red anodized aluminium block which holds 4 x 8 magnets.

We also offer a side collection version of the 32 FlipTube® magnet block. The difference in the position of the magnets allows for side collection for samples with low working volumes.
